Over £260m is set to create 9,323ha new woodland across England in the next four years.

Local communities are benefitting from newly planted woodland after 2.5 million trees were planted by England’s Community Forests network and their flagship Trees for Climate programme in 2025/26.

England’s Community Forests have taken another major step forward in creating new woodland across the country, with over 3.1 million trees planted during the 2024/25 season under the Defra supported Trees for Climate programme.
